KCC Board Names Finalists in Presidential Search

In its search for the next president of Klamath Community College, the KCC Board of Education has named two finalists. Jerome (Jerry) Migler and Roberto Gutierrez were selected from a field of more than 20 applicants. A committee comprised of board members, KCC faculty, staff and students, and representatives of the Klamath Basin community worked to pare the applicant pool down to seven semifinalists, who were then interviewed by the committee over the course of three days in late February/early March.

“We were very pleased with the number and quality of applicants,” said KCC Executive Director of Human Resources Karren Andrews. “Our committee worked diligently to review the applications and the process has resulted in two great finalists for the position.” The next step in the search process will include the two candidates returning to Klamath Falls for a series of forums and interviews later this month. Migler is scheduled to visit Klamath Falls March 21 and Gutierrez March 23. Information regarding the exact times and locations of the forums will be announced once details are finalized.

Following the finalist forums, the Board has the option of conducting site visits of the candidates’ current institutions. The Board plans to announce the next president of KCC in April.
Current KCC President Gerald Hamilton has announced his retirement effective June 30, 2012.
