Course Description: This course will focus on developing an understanding of how soils can be managed and used for our benefit. Soils will be addressed from the standpoint of traditional, sustainable, and organic agriculture. The role of soils in the management of forests, rangelands, wetlands, and other wildlands will be considered. Weekly "hands-on" laboratory, activities highlighting topics in the course serve to ground the principles of soil science in active learning. Recommended: CHE 104. Prerequisite: MTH 111. [SP]
