Course Description: Introduction to the possibilities of art in metal. Students will have hands on experiences to fabricate steel, copper, stainless steel, and create three dimensional sculpture, art shapes and designs. Course includes basic welding and cutting techniques, shop safety, layout of design in metal. No prerequisites are required. MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES: Safety glasses, leather gloves and coveralls are required for first session. 12 gauge steel plate and grinders with flap discs will be needed by the fifth class session. OIT parking permit may be required. Class is taught at OIT in Cornett Welding Lab. Instructor: Rick Howland
