Student Appeals Process

Student Appeals

Student Appeals

Students may use the student appeal form for select college decisions including: financial aid, suspension, late drop, late withdrawal, the ability to enroll in more than 18 credits/term, the opportunity to pursue a second degree, or to waive transcripts (see form for description of each category). The student appeal form, including instructions for how to complete it, are available online or in person at the front desk in Founders Hall. Once a student’s financial account is in good standing, student appeals are considered by a college student appeals committee made up of qualified personnel from several student success departments across campus. Student appeals are processed at regular intervals throughout the year and students are promptly contacted with appeal decisions.

Grade Appeals

Students may use the final course grade appeal form to challenge an academic grade. The form is available online or in person at the front desk in Founders Hall. As with student complaints, students submitting grade appeals should first discuss the matter with the instructor involved in the appeal. If this is not an option, the department chair or student success manager (located in Founders Hall) can often mediate a discussion between the student and instructor. If the student is still not satisfied, he/she may submit a grade appeal form to the vice president of Academic Affairs located in Health Sciences Building (Building 6). Grade appeals will be processed at regular intervals throughout the year and students are promptly contacted with appeal decisions.
