Support for Success
KCC provides advising services to assist students with career plans and academic choices. Student Services Representatives are available to both current and prospective students. All are encouraged to meet with a Student Services Representative or an Academic Advisor prior to registering for classes. For a listing of faculty advisors, see page 26.

KCC wants students to get the best start possible and be successful in college. Student Services Representatives can help students identify individual goals and establish the best path leading to their accomplishment.

Placement Testing [ACT Compass]
The College provides placement testing in reading, writing, and math skills for beginning students, since all college degrees and certificates require some coursework in these areas. New students taking reading, writing, or mathematics classes, or courses requiring prerequisite skills in those areas must take the placement exam which identifies courses that should be taken first. The results are used to determine the beginning level of writing and math in which students are most likely to succeed and to determine the ability to benefit from instruction.

Tests are given Monday through Friday in the Testing Room in Student Services by appointment only. In the few weeks before the beginning of each term, additional group testing times may be scheduled. Call 541-882-3521 to schedule an appointment. Disability-related accommodations for placement tests are considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact the Student Affairs Specialist at 541-882-3521.
