Associate of Arts, Oregon Transfer: AA-OT
The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer [AA-OT] degree is the preferred degree for students to complete
lower division [freshman and sophomore] Bachelor of Arts degree requirements at KCC. Students who
complete this degree and are accepted at Oregon public universities and colleges will be admitted as
having completed all lower division comprehensive and General Education requirements for a Bachelor
of Arts degree. Students should coordinate with advisors at KCC and their receiving institution
regarding the academic requirements of their major. In addition to satisfying the following requirements,
candidates for an AA-OT degree must remain aware of the foreign language requirements of the degree
they are seeking.
All candidates for the AA-OT degree must satisfactorily complete all the requirements of the degree
including a minimum of 90 credits, 72 of which are in the General Education Component. These courses
and their corresponding credit values are as follows:

For courses to meet general education requirements, they must be collegiate-level numbered [e.g. 100].
Courses numbered below the 100 level do not apply to the degree but are prerequisites to degree requirements.
Colleges and universities may have particular general education requirements. Please refer to the catalog
of the transfer institution for more information.
Basic Competencies
Candidates must demonstrate competency in collegiate-level mathematics, reading, writing, oral
communication/rhetoric, and information technology within seven years before completing the program.
Competency in mathematics is demonstrated by completing College Algebra [MTH 111] or any math course
which has a prerequisite of MTH 111 with a āCā or better grade. Note: The Elementary Math sequence
may be used to fulfill the computation requirement. Competency in writing and reading is demonstrated
by passing either WRI 123 or WRI 227 or any writing course which has an English Composition [WRI 122]
prerequisite. Competency in information technology is demonstrated by completing any four-credit computer
course with a CIS prefix. Computer application courses do not apply.
