Special Needs
The policies of nondiscrimination at KCC affirm the rights of all individuals to
equal education, activities, facilities, and employment without regard to age,
disability, national origin, race, marital status, religion, and sex, in accordance with
federal and state laws. Students with special needs should arrange an appointment
with the Student Services Office prior to registering for classes.
Learning Resources Center [LRC]
Located in KCC’s Building 4, the Learning Resources Center is designed to
support learning by offering a wide range of information resources and services.
Print and non-print resources, general-use computers with Internet access,
links to interlibrary loan materials, tutoring, and testing services are available to
students during the hours posted each term. Help Desk personnel are available
to answer questions and assist students, individuals, and groups of students. The
LRC provides individual and group study areas, listening and video viewing areas,
testing areas, and computer access areas.
Tutoring Services
Free tutoring and Help Desk services are available to students and staff during
the hours posted each term. Drop-in tutoring in math, writing, and computer
use is available. Tutoring in other academic areas may be requested at the LRC
Help Desk. All students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of group or
individual study in the LRC, where tutors are available. For more information, call
541-880-2206.
Library Resources
Books, periodicals, and multimedia materials identified by faculty to support
coursework are available in the Learning Resources Center. These include reference
and reserve materials, as well as general circulation materials.
Agreements with partner libraries expand the LRC’s available resources. These
include Portland Community College Library, Oregon Institute of Technology
Library, and Klamath County Public Library. LRC staff are available to explain
the specific procedures and limitations of each service and will assist patrons in
accessing materials.
