Getting Started
Klamath Community College (KCC) subscribes to an open-door, open admissions policy and welcomes all students, regardless of educational background, who can benefit from the variety of programs and courses offered.
A formal application process is required for students interested in credit or degree programs prior to initial course registration. This process is waived for persons registering in only non-credit classes. Community members who desire to take a non-credit course can either mail-in, or register in person at Student Services, by completing a class registration form. Payment is due by the first day of class.
Student Services Representatives are available to assist you with questions regarding your attendance at KCC. They can assist you with admission, registration, financial aid, and academic advisement. You can reach a Student Service Representative at (541) 880-2201 or stop by their office at KCC. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The following applies primarily to persons wanting to register for credit courses:
Schedule and take a placement exam.
A placement exam is required for all new students who are entering a degree or certificate program; enrolling for more than six credits; receiving financial aid; taking a math, reading or writing class; or a course with a math, reading or writing prerequisite.
The placement exam is offered at no charge to assess skill levels in math, reading and writing. Call (541) 882-3521 to schedule your test.
Complete an admissions form.
Prospective students must have a high school diploma or GED, or achieve an acceptable score on the placement exam. Individuals under 18 years may need to meet additional requirements. Please contact Student Services for specific information.
Register for classes.
The first time you register for credit classes you should bring your completed admissions form and meet with a Student Services Representative to select classes that will help you meet your academic goals and lay the foundation for your education.
Financial Aid.
Most individuals whose intent is to obtain a college degree or transfer to a four-year institution will qualify for federal and state financial aid. It is to your advantage to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The FAFSA form is available at KCC Student Services office or you complete this form on-line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Title IV school code for Klamath Community College is 034283.
Tuition, fees and fiscal responsibility.
Tuition and fees are due by the first day of class. The college accepts all traditional forms of payment including cash, checks, MasterCard or VISA. Link to current tuition and fees.
