Career Information and Planning Services
Career information and planning and job search resources are available in the Learning Resources Center (LRC). Print and computer-based materials offer a variety of approaches to assist students in exploring career options and seeking employment.
The internet-based Career Information System (CIS) is available on all of the LRC computers. This program offers information on many careers, including employment outlook, salary, type of work and work environment involved, and education required. The CIS program also offers surveys which help students identify careers which match their interests. Writing tutors have been trained in the use of CIS, and will gladly assist students needing assistance.
Print materials that assist students in preparing resumes and searching for jobs are also available in the LRC. Students needing assistance locating career-related print materials should ask a LRC Help Desk representative or a writing tutor.
In addition to LRC resources, KCC offers various career information programs throughout the year in conjunction with the Work Connection, the Employment Department, and the Oregon Human Development Corporation. These career information programs address career-related skills and opportunities. These services are free and are available to all KCC students
