Safety
The safety of students, faculty, staff, and guests of Klamath Community College is a top priority. The college takes a proactive stance on crime prevention and reporting, and views safety as a shared responsibility between the College and the individual.

Campus Security
The College maintains its grounds and lighting to ensure the campus is as secure as possible. Individuals on campus, including students, employees, and visitors, should take active responsibility for their individual safety and personal property. Security issues and concerns should be communicated to the Dean for Administrative Services at Building 3 or by calling 541-882-3521 during regular business hours.

Access to Facilities
Campus facilities will generally remain open when classes are in session. Offices, support spaces, and some instructional spaces may be locked to safeguard College property, personal property, and to protect individuals from possible injury.

Reporting of Criminal Actions
Klamath Community College, in conformity with the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, title II of Pub. L. 101-542, requires that all criminal actions and other emergencies occurring on campus, or at off-campus locations be reported to the office of the dean for Administrative Services at 541-882-3521 during regular business hours. Details are helpful in reporting possible criminal offenses. Include things such as the hour, location, license plate numbers, automobile color, make, and model, personal characteristics of the individual(s,) involved and other significant information. If an emergency situation exists, call 911 immediately; then report the incident to the dean for Administrative Services at the earliest opportunity. All information relating to criminal actions will be dispatched to the law enforcement agency in whose jurisdiction the incident occurred.

Drugs and Alcohol
Unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of an intoxicating or controlled substance (other than drugs prescribed by a physician) on College premises is prohibited. Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination, expulsion from classes, disqualification from use of campus facilities, and referral to appropriate law enforcement agencies for prosecution.
