Financial Aid
Most individuals whose intent is to obtain a college degree or transfer to a four-year institution will qualify for
federal and state financial aid. The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
The FAFSA form is available at KCC Student Services office or you can complete this form on-line at
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
The Title IV school code for Klamath Community College is 034283.
The packet and web site include directions and information for completing the form.
Need help? Writing tutors in the LRC have received training and can help you complete your FAFSA. Collect the information
as directed in Before Beginning a FAFSA Overview and set up an
appointment at the LRC.
After filing your FAFSA you can check the processing status at any time by following the directions on
FAFSA Follow-Up Overview. After federal process completion,
KCC will obtain your information and determine your possible awards and notify you via USPS. You can monitor the status of
KCC's financial aid office processing of your request by logging onto the KCC web.
Students can still file for financial aid for the current academic year and may be eligible for aid for classes taken prior
to filing during the same academic year. In January students may complete a FAFSA for the following academic year.
