12/6/2013
Klamath Community College has hired its first-ever Executive Director of the KCC Foundation. Dr. Steven Meneses joined the staff at KCC in November and is already making an impact.

Klamath Community College is pleased to announce that Dr. Steven Meneses has joined the staff as the first-ever Executive Director of the Klamath Community College Foundation. Dr. Meneses will work with the Foundation’s Board of Directors to increase charitable giving for the foundation and build an alumni network.

“This is a very exciting time to join the KCC Foundation,” Dr. Meneses said. “This is a young foundation, having formed a little more than a decade ago, but I think we are poised to make some great leaps right now. The work that the Board of Directors has done to get us to this point has been outstanding, and I know we can build on that and really grow the Foundation and its impact on not only the college, but the community.”

The KCC Foundation supports the mission of Klamath Community College by raising funds for student scholarships, capital construction and program development. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

Dr. Meneses earned his Doctor of Management in Community College Policy and Administration from the University of Maryland University College. Originally from Chicago, Dr. Meneses has spent time in the Pacific Northwest while earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. Prior to coming to KCC, Dr. Meneses most recently served as executive director of the Hispanic Institute for Education and Business. He has also held positions as president of a financial marketing company, vice president in the banking arena, and adjunct instructor at multiple colleges and universities around the country. Additionally, Dr. Meneses has served on various volunteer boards, including the board for Moraine Valley Community College.

In 2011, Dr. Meneses presented at the American Association of Community Colleges national conference. His presentation, entitled “Alumni Resource Development for Community Colleges: A Fundraising Management Model,” was very well received.

“We are very excited to have someone of Dr. Meneses’s skill and experience in this position,” said KCC President Dr. Roberto Gutierrez. “We are confident that his leadership will help our Foundation get to the next level in terms of its fundraising and alumni relations.”

Dr. Meneses began his tenure at KCC in mid-November. He relocated to Klamath Falls with his wife and two children. He can be reached at 541-880-2245 or via email at meneses@klamathcc.edu.
