Local Businesses May Benefit from KCC Community Education
Klamath Community College is offering a number of Community Education courses this fall that may benefit local business owners, employees and job-seekers. Community Education courses can be taken by anyone over the age of 16 and do not require the student to apply for admission to the college or take placement tests.
For those wanting to improve their computer skills, classes are being offered on a number of programs, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office 2010, and Microsoft Windows 7. Additionally, courses on beginning and advanced Quickbooks will begin in October.
A new offering for the fall term is Public Speaking for Personal and Professional Growth. In this class, students will learn skills that will allow them to be more effective in giving presentations to clients or colleagues in the workplace. The course will also cover job interviews. For those looking for work, this class will give them the skills needed to impress prospective employers during the interview process. Courses on First Aid and CPR and OSHA rules and regulations are also available this fall.
Another exciting new offering from KCC Community Education this fall is the Small Business Management Program. This program is one of the most effective business education programs ever designed. It incorporates an organized business curriculum with personalized one-on-one business coaching, giving business owners and key employees the tools and building blocks for success. The program accomplishes this via providing education (in class and on site), participation and application of best practices. The course is designed to help increase sales, improve profits and take businesses from survival mode to a thriving enterprise. Classes meet from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month beginning in November and running through April.
