The new Web Design for Marketing Certificate will also be offered as an evening cohort meeting one night a week!
Are you a working adult looking for an evening option to complete your education? A business owner with no time during the day who would love to optimize your Web site or build a better one? A busy parent who has limited free time during the day but wants to learn new technology skills?
The One Night a Week evening program could be the ideal solution! This convenient option allows adult students to stay on the leading edge of the job market and complete a college certificate with industry-recognized certifications along the way (check out the “CIW Certifications” link to the right for more information).
The Web Design for Marketing Certificate was designed to develop or enhance students’ skills in use of Web technologies, Web site design, and Internet marketing strategies. Students completing this certificate will develop competencies in:
Creating and managing business and commercial Web sites
Effectively using a full array of Web 2.0 interactive technologies
Using popular social media tools including Facebook Business Pages, Twitter campaigns, YouTube video marketing channels, and many more
Improving marketing efforts through effective use of E-Commerce, Internet marketing with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and best practices in social media content management
Students will also build skills in computer applications, writing and communication, and other areas related to business or technology; a list of all required coursework can be accessed by choosing the “Web Design for Marketing Curriculum” link on the right of this page.
A hybrid course blends traditional class time with web-based learning.
Students may also choose to complete this coursework during traditional daytime scheduling; please contact KCC Student Services for more information. Students pursuing the One Night a Week program will be part of a select group (a “cohort of peers”) and will be on track to graduate in 1 1/2 years. These “hybrid” classes will meet for less in-class time than traditional classes are scheduled, but will have substantial work required outside of class. This structure makes it more effective for adults to balance school, work and family responsibilities. The course sequence flows seamlessly and often focuses on one course at a time. A special orientation process is scheduled for students interested in this option.
