Registering for Public Safety Classes/Training at KCC

There are several ways to register for a class or training course at KCC. How you register for classes depends on whether they are credit or non-credit courses.

Credit Courses

Credit courses are classes taken for credit, usually toward a degree or certificate. Those taking credit classes may be eligible for financial aid. 

Online

Step 1:     Apply online.

Step 2:Check your email for a MyKCC username and password (can take up to 48 hours).

Step 3:    Go to MyKCC and check your Admissions Status. 

Step 4:  Once admitted, log into MyKCC and select “Register for Credit Classes” to the left under quick links.
 
Step 5: Use drop down menu under term to select current term. Example: “Summer Academic” next scroll to bottom of page and use search button.

Step 6: Scroll through course list until desired class is found, then select the "add box" to the left of the course code. 

Step 7: Once you have selected all courses, click the “add courses” button at the bottom of the page. (A message should appear letting you know you have been successfully registered.)

Mail In/Drop Off

Paper application forms are available weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm at the reception desk located in Building 3 on campus.  You can also download them here, print them out, and drop them off or mail them to:

Non-Credit Courses

(Community Education Courses)

Non-credit courses are designated by an x in our catalog/course schedule (example: ARTX733.01). They are not graded, and have different costs than credit courses.

Online

Step 5: Use drop down menu under term to select current term. Example: “Winter Community Ed” next scroll to bottom of page and use search button.

Step 6: Scroll through course list until desired class is found, then select the "add box" to the left of the course code. 

Step 7: Once you have selected all courses, click the “add courses” button at the bottom of the page. (A message should appear letting you know you have been successfully registered.)

By Phone

To register for a Community or Workforce Education (non-credit) course contact KCC Community Education at 541-880-2253.  They will take your registration information over the phone for the class you are interested in. 

Many of these courses have prerequisite requirements such as physicals or prior training. Talking with Community Education has the added benefit of alerting you to these requirements before you attempt to register.
