Providing avenues to careers in early childhood development, child care and elementary education as well as transfer to advanced degrees, the Department partners with high schools, colleges and universities to ensure a smooth progression to licensure.

Mission

By providing instruction, hosting academic and workforce licensure examinations, and providing access to continuing education credits for industry professionals, the Education Department prepares students for successful careers.

Degree Options
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Education: The Education Degree provides students a well-rounded and diverse education that consists of collegiate-level general education coursework and a core of technical courses in the fields of child development and education.

The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate: This certificate is a career ladder accommodating both part-time and full-time students. The certificate program meets the minimum requirements for teachers in an Oregon licensed child care facility.

Early Childhood Education Career Pathway Certificate: This Certificate in Early Childhood Education (17 credits) prepares students for entry-level employment as childcare professionals in a variety of educational settings.
