Klamath Community College will hold its Second Annual Art Show April 24 – 26 in the KCC Commons. The art show will feature works created by KCC students, faculty and staff—including former students and community education students. The public is encouraged to attend the show during its viewing hours, which will run from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. April 24 and 25, and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. April 26. Everyone attending the show will have an opportunity to vote on the People’s Choice Award.

Ribbons will be awarded for Best of Show, People’s Choice and First, Second and Third place in each category. Categories include oil, acrylic and watercolor painting as well as pencil, pastel, prisma color, mixed media, primitive, sculpture and photography. A new category for this year will be poetry. “We’re very excited to be able to feature the work of some of our amazingly talented poets this year,” said KCC art instructor and art show organizer Bill Lipe. “The more artists we can feature, regardless of the medium, the better!”

Last year’s event saw more than 1250 votes cast for the People’s Choice Award. “We’re hoping even more people will come out and take part and enjoy the art that the KCC community has to offer this year,” Lipe said.
