November Employee Giving

It’s November and that means it’s time to….

  • Recognize current KCC Employees who are giving
  • Invite all employees to give to the college – at the amount meaningful to you

For the first time ever - employees who give this year will be listed on an electronic display board – to be posted in Founders Hall.  Employees who give are able to designate the focus of their funds:

  1. Student Scholarship Funds – the KCC Endowment
  2. Student Emergency Funds
  3. Program Development Funds
  4. Unrestricted Funds – to be used by the Foundation for the greatest need

If you are not already giving to KCC, please consider doing so.  The needs of our students are great and the benefit to the college of having full participation comes back in grants and other funding opportunities.  It doesn’t matter how much you give – it matters that we all do give.  Whether $5/month or a one-time gift per year, every dollar makes a difference to our students, our college, and our community.  Thank you for supporting KCC!

This year’s Employee Giving Campaign will go throughout November and will culminate in a celebration in December.

Foundation Annual Ask

Dear friends of KCC,

Employment levels in Klamath County are finally rising, but local businesses are dealing with increased worker shortages. Many jobs in Klamath County remain unfilled because of skill gaps between employer demand for workers and the lack of a qualified applicant pool. This skill gap affects our community’s ability to attract new businesses.

Klamath Community College has implemented targeted solutions. The College offers a range of vocational programs to prepare students for middle-class jobs. Time and time again, research has shown a direct link between the knowledge base of a community and economic development. Strong career-technical programs aligned with local industry needs will transform our economy.

Klamath County’s history is rooted in its natural resources and the resiliency of its people. In recent years, KCC has played a vital role in building partnerships with the public and private sector to impact educational achievement levels. We need to build on this momentum to further develop local talent. Last year, we built capacity to offer advanced vocational programs and opened the new Work Skills Technology Center. Students can earn degrees and certificates in high-growth fields such as Computer Engineering Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, and Health Information Management. But we know we can do so much more.

Studies show that financial barriers are the greatest obstacle affecting students’ ability to enroll and complete degrees and certificates. Paying for college can be out of reach for nearly three in four KCC students with lower income levels and few financial resources to fall back on. These students are more likely to borrow money, cut their course load, or even drop out.

That is why the KCC Foundation is raising funds to provide students with much needed scholarships to cover tuition, fees and books. We are counting on your help. Please complete the pledge card with your contribution to the KCC Endowment today or use one of the methods below. KCC students will be contacting you in the coming weeks about your gift and how you can support our community with strong education, workforce development, and jobs.

Sincerely,

The KCC Foundation
