History

Klamath Community College's Student Leadership Council submitted an application to become an official Student Government on April 15, 2009. On April 28, 2009 the Board of Education of Klamath Community College approved the Associated Students of Klamath Community College (ASKCC). In May of 2009, the selection of the 2009-2010 ASKCC officers was made. ASKCC began working on the Oregon Community Colleges Associated Student Government Certification process in 2013; the certification application was submitted and approved in 2014.

Meetings

Fall term ASKCC meetings are held from 11:00am - 1:00pm. Executive meetings are held in the Office of Student Life, and General Meetings (open to all students) are held in the Commons.

President
Works to represent all students and their interests at KCC. Non-voting member of the KCC Board of Education & acting Chair of ASKCC meetings. Helps prepare ASKCC meeting agenda.

Vice President
Supports students participating in shared governance, assists in preparation of weekly ASKCC meeting agenda, and tracks action items. Serves as the ASKCC President if there is an absence.

Secretary
Takes minutes at all meetings and prepares minutes for review. Keeps record of club information, events and activities sponsored by ASKCC. Updates ASKCC binder for students to be aware of current agendas, spending, etc. (Binder can be found in Building 4).

Treasurer
Tracks spending of Student Govenment fees. Prepares requisitions with guidance from the KCC Business Office. Coaches treasurers of Registered Student Organizations.

Campus Club Officer
Maintain contact for KCC clubs and student organizations. Helps coordinate club events and montors club officers.

Marketing & Communications Officer
Creates and distributes marketing materials for student organizations. Works with the KCC Public Information Officer to create press releases, and updates the ASKCC website.
