As your community college, KCC is dedicated to serving workforce needs, while being the best community partner possible. In the new year we remain steadfastly focused on educational opportunities and partnerships while expanding services that will have a tangible impact on the Klamath Basin.

In 2024 KCC is adding an International Student program, led by Dr. Fred Griffiths, a Klamath Union graduate with experience in international programs. This incorporates academics and improving housing availability for students and residents alike.

KCC is developing four-year Bachelor Degree programs, establishing curriculum for Nursing and Salon Management. KCC is expanding online and hi-flex educational access, and developing community education courses, while growing access to popular programs like cosmetology.

We continue to partner and enhance apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs developing a well trained construction workforce, including partnerships with regional high schools to provide vocational skills training for teens. We are also working to improve academic preparation for K-12 for a seamless transfer to the rigors of college-level academics.

We see childcare as a desperate need in the community, and continue to develop strong partnerships with Klamath County and OCDC to provide childcare opportunities for the community and our students. With our community higher education partner, Oregon Tech, we seek to continue close collaboration with our Badger2Owl program, student housing, athletics, and international student programs.

As for resolutions in the new year, the KCC family strives to continue being a better community partner that understands the areas needs. We resolve to be cognizant of businesses and relevant workforce training demands, and through our K-CET and HEP programs we aim to continue to serve underrepresented groups and those seeking a second-chance with GED, apprenticeship, and degree program offerings.

On behalf of everyone at KCC, we are proud to be your community college in 2024 and beyond.
