The importance of serving all learners
Klamath Community College is in the business of human potential. We believe we have a fundamental responsibility to assist the people in our community and our larger sphere of influence. Our deepest purpose is to enable growth and success of individuals from every walk of life with long-lasting learning and training. Our work requires that we strive for impartial outcomes and experiences for all learners. We know through experience that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger and more prosperous community.
There is urgency in reaching underserved and marginalized populations, and we cannot afford to squander the talent that lies untapped. We recognize life is not a level playing field. We believe higher education’s trainings, certifications, and degree programs are immensely important to unlock individual prosperity and socioeconomic mobility. Meeting people as individuals, wherever they are at in location and personal circumstances, is important and necessary work. We firmly believe higher education is, and remains, the “great equalizer”. Therefore, we must continue to create the right conditions to help students succeed. It isn’t just the right thing to do, it is the smart thing to do for the future of our college, our community, and our nation.
