Video instructions on the processions will be available by the end of May. Family and friends will be able to attend the commencement ceremony and watch the livestream.
The livestream can be viewed on YouTube and on KCC's Facebook and Twitter. The livestream will begin Friday, June 14, at 4:30 PM. The link for the livestream will be updated closer to the date of the event.
What is the difference between Graduation and Commencement?
Graduation: the process of being awarded a degree after completion of credit hours and other degree requirements.
Commencement: is the annual ceremony KCC has for those students who have earned a degree or certificate during Fall and Winter terms, or expect to earn one during Spring or Summer term.
Commencement Program and Walking
The 2023 Commencement Program will list graduates from Fall term 2022 to Summer term 2023. Students graduating in Fall term 2023 will be included in the program only if they are approved to walk at the commencement after a careful review of their remaining course needs. If you have not yet submitted a petition to graduate and would like to be included in the commencement program, you must submit your petition no later than Friday, May 12. Additionally, you should be registered in all the remaining courses to complete your degree or certificate to show that are on-track to graduate before you will be approved to walk. You can view your petition status by logging into your MyKCC account and clicking “Check my degree progress” under the Degree hub.

The bookstore has additional graduation memorabilia available for purchase. If you have any questions, email bookstore@klamathcc.edu or call (541) 880-2345.
Acceptable Regalia
Approved adornments show academic honors, leadership, or service:
- Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) students wear an honors cord, a gold stole, and a gold tassel on their caps.
- Students receiving honors at graduation do not require special adornments, but at minimum they stand and are recognized during Commencement.
- Officers of Associated Students of Klamath Community College (ASKCC) wear a medallion, designed by each year’s ASKCC President.
- Additional adornments must be proposed by students to the Registrar for approval no later than June 2nd.
The Registrar or designee is authorized to ask students to remove adornments that (a) may be obscene or likely to be offensive to persons of ordinary sensibilities in the judgment of the President, (b) pose safety hazards, or (c) detract from the ceremony.

During the commencement ceremony you will receive your diploma cover only. Inside your diploma cover you will receive a letter explaining that final grades are needed to confirm your degree status. If you are completing your degree in Spring or Summer, the degrees will be awarded within two weeks after the final grades are posted and all degree requirements are verified to be met. The KCC transcript will reflect the awarded degree and certificate with a conferred date. Actual diplomas are mailed six to eight weeks after the term you complete your degree. If you received Financial Aid loan funds, you must complete Financial Aid Exit Counseling after the last term you received loans and all financial obligations to KCC must be current with the Business Office before diplomas can be released.
Please note that you do not have to attend Commencement to receive your degree or diploma cover. If you decide not to attend the ceremony, you may pick up your diploma cover at the Registrar’s office beginning July 1.
Reception and Alumni gifts
All graduates, members of their families, and guests are invited to a reception immediately following the Commencement ceremony in the Commons (Building 4). Each graduate will receive a KCC alumni gift bag and get more photo opportunities while enjoying light refreshments.
