International Programs Assistantship

Klamath Community College is offering a scholarship to international students who would like to work toward an Associate Degree at Klamath Community College.

Recipient Responsibilities

The recipient of this scholarship will be expected to:

  • Begin in the fall term and follow the Curriculum Map developed by your advisor
  • Maintain a Full Course of Study during the fall, winter, and spring quarters
  • Adhere to KCC’s Student Conduct Policies
  • Attend classes regularly and maintain a 3.0 GPA
  • Create quality content to create TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram, Twitch, and other sites in English and their first language.
  • Provide feedback on services, activities, and their personal experiences using the International Programs Evaluation Form.
  • Meet once a week with the International Programs Director.
  • Serve as an International Student Advisor whose role is to 1) be an active member of the International Student Club, 2) welcome new international students, and 3) help promote International Programs.
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English, strong interpersonal skills, and time-management skills needed to create quality social media content, evaluate programs, activities, and personal experiences, and serve as an International Student Advisor.

Maintaining Eligibility: Students who fail to meet one or more of these responsibilities will be placed on an improvement plan or lose their scholarship.

Selection Process

  • All complete applications will be considered; incomplete applications will not be considered.
    • At least two KCC employees will evaluate each application
    • Applications will be evaluated using KCC’s International Assistant Evaluation Form
  • Finalists will be invited to a virtual interview.
  • Scholarship recipients will receive an award letter and if accepted will:
    • receive a KCC 1-20, then
    • schedule their F-1 visa interview, then
    • purchase their airplane ticket and secure housing, then
    • plan to arrive 1 week before fall classes begin.

Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis with a cut-off date of May 15 for the next academic year.

Scholarship Details

Scholarship Includes

  • Tuition Waiver of up to 12 credit hours per quarter
  • Fee Waiver of up to 12 credits per hour
  • Textbook Loans (to be returned at end of the quarter)
  • Medford, Oregon Airport Pickup (arrival and departure)

Scholarship Does not Include

  • F-1 Student Visa Fees (varies)
  • Airfare (varies)
  • Health Insurance ($40+ month)
  • Room and Board ($500+ month)
  • Spending money (varies)

Length of Scholarship

A maximum of six (6) consecutive academic terms, not to include summer term

  • For Instance: Fall 25, Winter 26, Spring 26, Fall 26, Winter 27, and Spring 27

How to Apply

Step One: Collect/Complete the following documents:

  • English Proficiency Form and documentation
  • Financial Guarantee
  • An original bank statement dated within the last 6 months.
  • Copy of Passport Bio Page
  • High School and College (if available) Transcripts in English
  • A 500 Word Essay: Open Topic
  • A Letter of Recommendation (in English)
  • Document (max one page) with links to social media accounts
