The final step in this process is preparing for your studies at Klamath Community College in the United States of America! There are many things you need to consider, so let’s go through them one by one.

When should you arrive?  

  • You must arrive by the start date listed on your I-20.
  • You may arrive up to 30 days in advance of the program start date listed on the I-20.
  • KCC recommends that you arrive 7 days before the program start date listed on the I-20.

How will I get from the airport to Klamath Falls?

  • Please fly into the Medford International Airport (Airport IATA Code: MFR)
  • KCC International Programs provides free airport shuttle service from the MFR airport to KCC.
  • Send your flight information at least one week in advance to international@klamathcc.edu

Where will I live while in Klamath Falls?

  • There are many housing options including apartments, room rentals, and homestays.
  • KCC International Programs can help determine where you feel most comfortable and secure housing .
  • Contact our office at least 30 days in advance at international@klamathcc.edu

What transportation options are in Klamath Falls?

  • Students can ride the Basin Transit System for free with their KCC ID card.
  • There are many bike paths for students who want to cycle to school during warm weather.
  • Purchasing a car is another option for many students.

What dining options are in Klamath Falls?

  • KCC has a restaurant, self-service food stall, and snack bar on campus.
  • There are 100s of restaurants in town to fit any budget and preference.
  • There are several grocery stores to make meals at home.

What should I bring with me?

  • KCC International Programs will take you to a store shortly after you arrive in Klamath Falls.
  • However, you may want to bring a cell phone, an adaptor for electronics, personal medication, and other necessities.
  • Make sure to bring all your documents!

What will my first week be like?

  • You should report to the International Program Office (Building 9, Room 9244) as soon as you arrive.
  • You will then take part of international student orientation week.
  • This will include important information as well as fun social and cultural events!
