Admission Process for International Students

Applying to Klamath Community College

KCC offers guaranteed admission to international students who meet all enrollment requirements. Prospective students should submit their application at least 3 months before they plan to begin their studies. This will give them enough time to complete the F-1 visa process. The application process is simple and includes the following steps:   

Step One – Gather all your Documents.

  • Document 1 – KCC Financial Guarantee. This can be found here.
  • Document 2 – Recent original bank statement showing $21,700+ USD.
  • Document 3 – KCC English Language Proficiency Form. This can be found here.
  • Document 4 - Copy of the bio page of your passport.
  • Document 5 – Copy of your high school transcripts.

Step Two – Complete the KCC International Student Application.

Step Three – Submit the documentation (choose one of these options)

Step Four – Applicants that meet all requirements will receive an I-20 within 5 business days.

Notes on Admission Requirements

High School Requirement. Students may apply before they finish high school but must complete high school or a high school equivalency program prior to the start of their program.

English Language Requirement. Courses at KCC are taught in English, so students are expected to have a high level of proficiency in English.

Financial Guarantee and Bank Statement. This is required by the U.S. Government and is needed to process your I-20 document. You are required to submit an official bank statement that is no more than 6 months old to prove you have funds in addition to the form.  Please contact the International Programs Office if you will be living with family and would like to adjust the living expense estimate.

Passport Bio Page. This is required by the U.S. Government and is needed to process your I-20 document. Your passport should be valid for a minimum of 6 months beyond the initial period of stay in the United States. For example, students applying for Fall 2024 should have a passport that is valid until January 2026.

Additional Program Specific Requirements

Allied Health, Education, Child Care, and Academics. Klamath Community College requires that students involved in clinical experiences in allied health programs, practicum experiences in education and child care programs, and membership on intercollegiate sports teams have two doses of measles vaccine prior to each student’s participation in those activities. The requirement applies only to those students born on or after January 1, 1957.

Associate of Applied Science: Aviation Airplane | Helicopter

  • Students applying for an aviation program will need to submit the following documents.
    • A Class 2 Medical Exam
    • Two forms of ID
    • Liability Waiver signed/dated/witnessed
    • A Financial Guarantee for International Aviators

 Associate of Applied Science: Nursing | Practical Nurse Certificate

  • Students applying for the nursing program will need to submit results from:
    • Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) OR
    • Health System Testing Repository (HSTR)
