You can purchase a regalia and announcements at the KCC Bookstore. To purchase online you can click on the Bookstore link http://bookstore.klamathcc.edu/MerchList?ID=6537 or you may purchase in-person at the KCC Bookstore. Stoles are provided for the student by the college and will be available for pick up at the start of the event (4:30 PM for rehearsal).

Approved adornments show academic honors, leadership, or service:

• Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) students wear an honors cord, a gold stole, and a gold tassel on their caps.
• Students receiving honors at graduation do not require special adornments, but at minimum they stand and are recognized during Commencement.
• Officers of Associated Students of Klamath Community College (ASKCC) wear a medallion, designed by each year’s ASKCC President.
• Additional adornments must be proposed by students to the Registrar for approval no later than May 9, 2025.

The Registrar or designee is authorized to ask students to remove adornments that (a) may be obscene or likely to be offensive to persons of ordinary sensibilities in the judgment of the President, (b) pose safety hazards, or (c) detract from the ceremony.

At Klamath Community College, we are excited to celebrate your achievement with you! We know that decorating your graduation cap is a fun way to show off your personality and creativity. If you choose to decorate your cap, please follow these simple rules so the ceremony stays respectful and enjoyable for everyone.

These guidelines will be followed at the ceremony. If a cap does not meet them, we may ask you to change it or wear a plain one before participating. We want to make sure the event stays safe, positive, and welcoming for all.

Cap Decorating Rules:

• Only decorate the top flat part of your cap (called the mortarboard).

• Decorations must not hang off the sides of the cap or go beyond the edges.

• Keep your design school-appropriate and respectful to others.

Please DO NOT include:

• Offensive language or profanity

• Anything related to drugs, alcohol, or vaping

• Images or messages that are hateful, threatening, or target a person or group

• Decorations that are distracting, noisy, or unsafe

• Anything that flashes, lights up, or makes sounds

• Items that might fall off easily or cause a mess (glitter, confetti, etc.)

• Symbols or references that go against KCC’s commitment to respect and inclusion

Note: This is not a full list. If your cap has anything considered inappropriate or unsafe, we may ask you to wear a new, plain one instead.
