Accreditation

Klamath Community College is proud to have achieved and maintained formal accreditation through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Our community college is recognized as an institution with high standards for performance, integrity and quality to merit the confidence of the educational community and the public.

This accreditation, from an independent, nonprofit organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, represents our voluntary and conscientious commitment to quality assurance and institutional improvement. KCC's accreditation was last reaffirmed in 2018.

KCC has been accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU or the Commission), a regional accrediting agency within the scope of authority approved by the United States Department of Education since 2004.

Courses and programs are approved by the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission in concert with the Oregon Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development KCC is approved as a veterans’ training institution by the Veterans Administration. Klamath Community College is a Military Friendly School.

The College is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges and the Oregon Community College Association and the Oregon Guided Pathways Project.

Specialized Accreditation

Several of KCC’s career and technical programs maintain accreditation, certification, or approval from professional organizations such as the Oregon State Board of Nursing. These processes help ensure we offer quality education and prepare students for a recognized profession. In some cases, programmatic accreditation ensures that students meet professional licensure requirements by reviewing the quality of curriculum and program content.
