Welcome to the Math Department at Klamath Community College. We offer a variety of mathematics classes, from basic mathematics to calculus and statistics. These classes are designed to help you meet the requirements of your degree program, and to also understand mathematics as a tool.

- Statistician: Develop or apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information.The typical entry-level education for this occupation is an bachelor's degree. - Logistician: Analyze and coordinate the logistical functions of a firm or organization. Responsible for the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources.The typical entry-level education for this occupation is a bachelor's degree.
Questions and Answers
What class comes after Math 20?
It depends, and this is an important conversation to have with your advisor, or a member of the Mathematics Department. It could be Math 60 or Math 70 or Math 98 or Math 99.If you are pursuing a career in healthcare, science, or engineering, you will need algebra, trigonometry, and most likely calculus. This means that you should take Math 60 or Math 70. Math 60/65 and Math 70 cover the same material. We offer Math 60/65 for students who have not been exposed to algebra, and need a slower paced class.
If you are working towards a Welding Certificate, you can complete your computation requirement by taking Math 070.
A student in our Automotive or Diesel Program should take Math 085, a class designed specifically for that program.
According to our 2016-17 catalog, the following degrees also show taking Math 98 and then Math 105 are an option:

How can you make sure you are making the correct decision as to what math pathway to take? It typically revolves around whether or not you plan to transfer to another school after leaving KCC. Students who are transferring need to check with their transfer school and see if Math 105 is the best option. That question can typically be answered by checking articulation agreements for that particular program at that school, or by visiting that school’s website. Some schools require Math 111, while others are fine with Math 105. Remember that if you need Math 243, you will be prepared to take it after Math 105. (Also note that some schools require Math 243 AND Math 244 to count as their statistics requirement!)

Where can I get math tutoring?
Klamath Community College offers multiple tutoring opportunities. Tutoring is available to all KCC students at the Tutoring Center offered through the Learning Resource Center (LRC). All KCC students also have access to eTutoring offered through the Western eTutoring Consortium. Additional tutoring and other resources are available through TRiO Student Support Services to TRiO students only.
