Public notice of Klamath Community College accreditation evaluation visit by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
- Academic
Klamath Community College (KCC) will host a peer evaluation team from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) to conduct a comprehensive visit March 31-April 2, 2025.
KCC is proud to have achieved and maintained formal accreditation through the NWCCU since 2004. Our community college is recognized as an institution with high standards for performance, integrity and quality to merit the confidence of the educational community and the public. This accreditation, from an independent, nonprofit organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, represents our voluntary and conscientious commitment to quality assurance and institutional improvement. KCC's accreditation was last reaffirmed in 2018. The college’s Mid-Cycle report was accepted in 2021 and the year-six accreditation report of Policies Regulations and Financial Review (PRFR) was accepted in 2024.
The year-seven report, called the Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness (EIE), includes a comprehensive narrative response to NWCCU standards and eligibility requirements. KCC will submit its EIE Report in January 2025, which will be followed by a site visit from a peer evaluation team on March 31-April 2, 2025. These peer evaluators, who are part of a volunteer corps, trained by the NWCCU, and drawn from administrators, faculty, and staff at other universities in the NWCCU region, review the EIE Report and meet with KCC students, faculty, staff, and board of trustees members to evaluate the college’s compliance with NWCCU accreditation standards and policies.
Community members are invited to send comments to the NWCCU office, up to 10 days before the start of the evaluation visit. Online submissions can be shared at https://nwccu.org/member-institutions/upcoming-evaluations/. Mail comments to the Commission office via USPS or courier services at: Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, 8060 165th Ave NE, Suite 200, Redmond, WA 98052.
