Student Success Story: Chrystal Mae Wilson
- Student Success Story
At first, Chrystal Mae Wilson was very really nervous about attempting to get here GED because she was home-schooled and believed the test would be difficult.
“I was struggling in high school and I thought I would never be able to graduate,” she said.
“I had a cousin who had studied for the GED and I thought I would give it a try.”
What she found out was that the K-CET staff was welcoming and understanding. As it turns out, she passed the GED tests in record time, she says.
In a word, the K-CET program was “helpful,” Wilson said. “Everyone was so welcoming and kind, that is how they helped me.”
“A story I like to tell is I was studying for my final math test. I was really nervous as it was only a few days after my language arts test. The instructor sat down with me, explained all the questions I had. So when the time came to take the test, I was able to pass with flying colors.”
Today, Wilson has joined Klamath Community College and is seeking her certificate in Early Childhood Education thanks to her GED.
