Guided Pathways

Essential Practices

Clarify the Pathways

In order for students to make an informed decision, all KCC programs have clear curriculum maps, employment information, and information about other educational opportunities.

Help Students Get on a Pathway

Every new student explores career/college options, chooses a program of study, and develops an academic plan as soon as possible.

Help Students Stay on their Pathway

Students meet with advisors often and have easy access to see how they have progressed, as well as what courses they the need and when they can take them.

Ensure Students are Learning

Program learning outcomes are aligned to further educational and employment outcomes; students have  opportunities to apply and deepen skills, and KCC will assess effectiveness of educational practices.

Curriculum Maps

A key element to Guided Pathways is providing students with coherent educational plans. KCC has created curriculum maps for every degree and certificate so students can enter into their major and follow these maps from start to finish. Curriculum maps are located on specific program pages.
