Online Precalculus and Calculus

Klamath Community College (KCC) is excited to offer precalculus and the calculus series all online. Each class is offered every term with all course material available digitally - that means you can complete the sequence any time, from anywhere!

What will I learn?

Sequence overview:

The precalculus series consists of MTH 111Z – Precalculus I: Functions and MTH 112Z – Precalculus II: Trigonometry.

The Calculus series consists of MTH 251Z – Differential Calculus, MTH 252Z – Integral Calculus, and 254 – Vector Calculus.  In addition, MTH 253Z – Sequences and Series will also be offered once a year.

Proctoring will be required for chapter tests.  Online or in-person proctoring options are available.

Credits:

Each lecture course is 4 quarter credits. For transfer to the semester-based schools, four quarter credits equal 2.67 semester credits. It is recommended to complete the entire calculus series for seamless transfer to out of state colleges. 

Hours:

There are approximately 40 hours in each lecture course, excluding examinations.

Prerequisites:

The precalculus courses are the prerequisites to the calculus sequence.  

How will I learn it?

Delivery:

Each course is fully online and asynchronous. The precalculus and calculus courses are delivered fully online and require no campus visits.  However, testing is proctored, so test will require visits to a testing center, an accepted proctor, or online proctoring.  Since course materials are in prerecorded format, students may access them anytime during the day or night and in any time zone. However, these courses are not self-paced and adhere to a strict schedule.

Textbook:

A hardcopy textbook is not required.  The classes will utilize an online homework platform
