Fall FYE point opportunities

Your first year of college should make you feel supported, equipped, and fulfilled to succeed in academics and in life. That's why KCC is committed to you as an individual, and to your first year experience! The First Year Experience at KCC plans and provides programming and events that engage and connect all students to each other, to staff and faculty, and to the campus.

Student Life and the First Year Experience work closely together to ensure all students, new and returning, have the resources, connections, and excitement needed to have a fulfilling first year. We involve various departments and services in our programming to further extend resources to students and to acquaint you with the KCC family. With weekly events and activities, you're sure to have fun and meet tons of exciting individuals, like yourself!

Welcome Week!

You can count on a campus wide party the first week of every term! Welcome Week is a five-day celebration of the beginning of the term, where each day something new is happening on different parts of campus. We invite locally owned businesses to cater on campus throughout the week, with no cost to students. Some returning favorites include: The Doughnut House for Go Nuts Donuts, Los 2 Koras for Taco Tuesday, and Lighthouse Yogurt Company for Froyo Friday. We aim to serve and excite our students, and we strive to support our community.

Registration Kick Off

Just as we celebrate each new term, we also celebrate Summer and Fall Term registration. The Kick Off is an annual event held on the opening day of summer and fall enrollment. From morning to evening, you're invited to play carnival games, enjoy several community-based caterers, explore and meet our campus resources, and register for classes! We love doing giveaways, so students who register are automatically added into raffles for local food and coffee gift cards and KCC Bookstore gift certificates.

KCC Cruise!
May 3, 2021 marked the first ever KCC Cruise! With entries from KCC staff and students, the Auto/Diesel department, and the KCC Fire Academy, over 15 beautiful classic cars, hot rods, and impressive engines were on display in our Founders Hall parking lot.
Weekly events and activities

On top of regular programming, we are always planning new events every week. Between resume workshops with Careers Services Center, or cultural competency in the Share-itage Series, you can broaden your knowledge, sharpen your skills, and experience something new!

Scheduled events and event information can be found in the Upcoming Events calendar and on the KCC and KCC Student Life Facebook pages. Be sure to follow and like our social media so you can always be in the know!
