CARES Act Funding

  1. Klamath Community College has signed and returned a certification and agreement to the Department of  Education with the assurance that the institution intends to use no less than 50% of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide emergency financial aid grants to students.

  2. Klamath Community College has received a total of $349,657 from the Department of Education pursuant to the institution’s submitted certification and agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

  3. The total amount of emergency financial aid grants directly distributed to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of July 22, 2020, is $349,657. NOTE: This figure will be updated every 45 Days until funds are expended. 

  4. The estimated total number of KCC students who are eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to received emergency financial aid grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is currently calculated at 734 for spring 2020 and 337 for summer 2020. If a student was eligible in both terms they are counted in each term.

  5. The total number of KCC students who have received an emergency financial aid grant under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 734 for Spring Term and 220 for Summer Term. If a student was eligible in both terms they will be counted in each term.
