Steps to Success at KCC

Step 1: Fill out the free online admissions form

KCC's admissions application has no fees/cost and is available to everyone completely online. After you submit your form, you will receive two emails- one that contains your student ID number and next steps and another that contains your password. Make sure to check your spam folder if you haven't received the email in 5 - 10 business days. Still haven't received the email or have questions? Give us a call at 541-882-3521 or email admissions@klamathcc.edu.

Step 2: Submit prior transcripts

Submit transcripts from all previous institutions attended using the steps above.

Step 3:Log in to your MyKCC Account

Your MyKCC account is your student account at KCC. In MyKCC you are able to view available classes, register each term (with advisor approval), view and accept financial aid, and more! Follow the steps in your admission email to sign in to your MyKCC account. Once you have logged in to MyKCC, check what classes are available to prepare for your advising appointment.

Step 4: Schedule an advising appointment

Call 541-882-3521 or email kcc@klamathcc.edu to set up an appointment with one of our student success advisors to meet in-person, on zoom, or by telephone. You will not be able to register for classes until you have met with an advisor. In your advising meeting, you will register for your first term, find out any special admissions criteria, and/or find any placement testing needed.

Step 4.5: Complete placement testing

You may need to take some placement tests to make sure that you are in the right course for math and writing. The tests are free and easy to take at our testing center or online (contact the testing center for more information). Making sure that you start with the right level of course makes it easier for you to succeed.

Step 5: Pay for your courses

There are several ways to pay for your KCC courses. All students should fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This will help determine your financial aid package for federal financial aid, grants, and is needed to apply for Oregon Promise. You can check out our funding your success page to see options for paying for college. If you are paying out of pocket, payment is due the first day of term and payment arrangements are available.

Step 6: Attend New Student Orientation (NSO)

New student orientation is required for every new student at KCC. An orientation session is held the Thursday prior to each term - online and in-person. At NSO you will meet faculty, find campus resources, engage with student leaders, and participate in workshops. If you have questions about NSO, contact the First Year Experience Coordinator at 541-880-2207 or horned@klamathcc.edu.

We look forward to having you as a KCC Badger!
